Day of the Dead in the Riviera Maya in 2026 is a chance to slow down, learn and plan time around local traditions. If your trip overlaps October 30–November 2, keep a cultural evening separate from a demanding full-day excursion. You will enjoy both more with a realistic schedule and a confirmed way back to your accommodation.
A confirmed event for your calendar
The official Festival of Life and Death website announces Xcaret’s 2026 edition for October 30 through November 2. Consult the organizer for tickets, the current program, admission times and conditions. Tulum Private Tours is not the festival organizer; festival admission is not included in a transport or tour quotation unless explicitly stated.
Choose a daytime experience that fits your evening
Our suggestion is one main daytime activity rather than several distant stops. If you want archaeology and a swim, ask about the Tulum ruins and cenote private tour. If your group prefers swimming, explore the two-cenote private experience. Tell us the time you must return so we can assess whether the route is realistic.
A private tour means your own group travels together; it does not mean exclusive access to an archaeological site, cenote or event. Other visitors may be present. Ask about the walking, entry steps, water access and equipment before deciding, especially when traveling with children or someone with limited mobility.
A simple plan for October 30–November 2
- Morning: one agreed excursion, with a pickup time and return window confirmed in advance.
- Afternoon: leave time for lunch, a shower and rest at your accommodation.
- Evening: attend the event you have booked or a locally confirmed public program.
- Return: agree on a meeting point, driver contact and pickup time before you go.
This is a suggested structure, not a fixed package or a promise that every combination will work. Send your hotel address and event details for a tailored quotation.
Visit with respect
Remember that remembrance can be personal. Ask before photographing people or family altars, follow the host’s directions and do not touch offerings. A staged festival program and a family’s observance are different experiences. Let your guide explain what is appropriate in each setting rather than expecting every community to offer the same access or activities.
Arrange the transport before the evening
Our private transportation page lists open services of 5, 8 and 12 hours with day/night prices in Mexican pesos. Confirm which service applies to your itinerary, the exact start and finish, waiting arrangements and any pickup supplement. An open service is transport; do not assume it includes event tickets or a guided visit.
Questions before you book
Can you sell me festival admission?
Use the organizer’s official ticket information unless a separate written arrangement has been confirmed. We can discuss your transport request without implying festival admission is available through us.
What if I arrive late or the weather changes?
Keep arrival day flexible. Outdoor activities depend on conditions and site decisions. Ask about the relevant change and cancellation terms before paying; see our booking FAQs.
Tell us your dates
Send your preferred day, accommodation, group size, daytime interests and any evening booking. We will check availability and propose a workable private outing.
